Samsung’s ‘Switchers’ campaign brings Dr. Orna Guralnik and real-life celebrity pairs together to explore the emotional side of leaving the iPhone ecosystem for Galaxy. Switching smartphones is usually framed around better cameras, faster processors or bigger displays. Samsung’s latest campaign takes a very different route, treating the decision to move from iPhone to Android like a relationship problem that needs to be talked through. Called Switchers, the campaign brings in clinical psychologist Dr. Orna Guralnik, known for the documentary series Couples Therapy, to help people work through their concerns about switching smartphone ecosystems.

The campaign features celebrity pairs with real-life relationships, including Ciara Miller and Dylan Efron from The Traitors, Love Island personalities Carl Schmidt and Aniya Harvey, and former NFL players Nick Foles and Clay Matthews. Across six 30-second films, the Galaxy phone becomes part of conversations around the familiar anxieties that can make consumers hesitant to leave their existing devices. Instead of relying on a conventional product demonstration, Samsung uses the language and setting of couples therapy to address concerns around data, communication and sharing. One of the films focuses on the fear of losing years of personal data while changing devices. Samsung uses Smart Switch as the answer, highlighting its ability to transfer contacts, photos, messages, apps and settings from iOS to Android through a QR code. Another addresses the friction between iPhone and Android users, particularly around messaging and emoji reactions. The campaign brings RCS into the conversation as a way to improve communication across the two ecosystems.

File and photo sharing also feature in the campaign, with Samsung highlighting Quick Share and its compatibility with AirDrop as another way to make the transition easier for users accustomed to Apple’s ecosystem. The campaign puts Samsung’s latest Galaxy devices at the centre of these conversations, including the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Ultra with its privacy display. By using a therapy setting instead of a traditional technology pitch, Switchers focuses on an often-overlooked part of changing devices: the familiarity people build around an ecosystem. Years of photos, messages, apps, habits and shared conversations can make moving to a different platform feel like a bigger decision than simply buying a new phone. The campaign also comes as Samsung continues to target consumers switching from competing smartphone brands. According to figures shared by Samsung, 30% of Galaxy Z Flip8 buyers switched from another brand, while switchers accounted for 23% of Galaxy Z Fold8 buyers and 12% of Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra buyers. Through Switchers, Samsung turns the familiar iPhone-versus-Android debate into a conversation about change, attachment and the practical concerns that come with moving to a new smartphone ecosystem.
