Stories that found their audience as written content on Pratilipi are now set to get a second life on screen.
Mohalla Tech, the parent company of ShareChat, Moj and QuickTV, has partnered with Double Tap Films, Pratilipi’s microdrama studio, to distribute more than 75 stories from Pratilipi’s catalogue across its platforms.
Under the partnership, stories that have already gained traction with audiences on Pratilipi will be selected for adaptation into microdramas by Double Tap Films before being distributed across ShareChat, Moj and QuickTV.
The collaboration creates a new route for stories to move from written formats into short-form, episodic video, tapping into the growing demand for regional and episodic digital entertainment across advertising-led and subscription-based platforms.
Pratilipi’s catalogue spans multiple genres and Indian languages, with audience engagement on the platform playing a role in informing which stories are selected for adaptation. The chosen stories will then be developed as microdramas, giving existing narratives a new format and a wider distribution network.
For Mohalla Tech, the partnership also strengthens its content pipeline beyond traditional production models. For Pratilipi and Double Tap Films, it opens up another avenue for stories and creators to travel beyond the written page and onto digital entertainment platforms at scale.
The collaboration also brings writers, creators and production partners into the larger digital entertainment ecosystem, giving selected stories access to distribution across Mohalla Tech’s portfolio of platforms.
With more than 75 stories set to make the transition from Pratilipi’s catalogue to microdrama formats, the partnership is building a bridge between two increasingly connected worlds: stories that first prove their appeal through reader engagement and the short-form video platforms where those stories can find their next audience.
