OpenAI Brings Workplace Chaos to Life in New ChatGPT Work Campaign with Abhay Verma

The new film turns a last-minute pricing error and an unexpected performance gig into a fast-paced demonstration of how ChatGPT Work can handle routine tasks while users stay on the move.

OpenAI has released a new advertisement for ChatGPT Work, featuring actor Abhay Verma in a workplace story that combines office chaos, internet culture and a race against the clock. The film opens with a bizarre presentation featuring a gorilla in blue shorts dancing and drinking protein coffee at Mumbai’s Marine Drive. The unusual visual is revealed to be part of a pitch by Verma’s character to his boss, who eventually approves the idea but notices an error in the pricing. Before Verma can correct it, another message arrives: he has been asked to perform at a live event starting in around 30 minutes.

With time running out, he turns to ChatGPT Work. Using its voice assistance, Verma asks the tool to draft an email to the agency flagging the incorrect pricing, secure approval for the revised version and send it. The tool also identifies other instances where the incorrect price appears, which he had missed. The film then follows Verma as he races through staircases, roads and corridors while ChatGPT works across mobile and web. He eventually relies on it to update the storefront and launch channel, while continuing to monitor the process. The two timelines converge as ChatGPT goes live with the updated information just as Verma goes live on stage.

The film has been conceptualised by EO2 EXP, a Mumbai-based creative studio and production house, and directed by Miti Shroff. The campaign follows OpenAI’s recent Teachers’ Day film, which presented ChatGPT from a different perspective. That campaign focused on using AI as a learning aid rather than a shortcut for completing school assignments, featuring teachers recognising when students had submitted work that did not sound like their own.Taken together, the films reflect a more use-case-driven approach to marketing ChatGPT. Instead of focusing primarily on the technology itself, OpenAI is placing the product within recognisable situations—from helping students work through problems to assisting professionals with tasks that need to be completed under pressure.

ChatGPT Work is currently available with a one-month free trial, followed by a subscription priced at Rs 1,999 per month. OpenAI has also begun rolling out advertising in India, with brands including Mamaearth announcing campaigns on the platform.
