The Hindi devotional drama, based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, has already been released in India.
Hombale Films has taken up the international distribution of ‘Hanuman Ansh’, the Hindi devotional drama based on the life of revered spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj-ji.
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film explores the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, whose spiritual influence has extended beyond India and attracted followers and visitors from across the world.
The saint’s association with figures such as Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Julia Roberts has also brought international attention to his story. Jobs travelled to India in 1974 in search of Maharaj-ji, while Zuckerberg later visited Kainchi Dham after being advised by Jobs. Roberts has also spoken about the influence of Neem Karoli Baba on her spiritual journey. Indian personalities including Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have also visited Kainchi Dham, which is closely associated with the saint.
Announcing the overseas distribution, Hombale Films shared on social media: “A story rooted in faith. A journey beyond borders. Already released in India, Hanuman Ansh has been running in theatres, with reported box-office figures showing growth from an opening of around ₹10 lakh to ₹63.82 crore by Day 26. The film’s theatrical performance and word-of-mouth have further brought attention to the story of Maharaj-ji.
For Hombale Films, the international release adds another title to its expanding slate of pan-India and culturally rooted cinema. The production house is behind films and franchises including KGF, Kantara, Salaar and Mahavatar Narsimha.
The studio has also expanded across multiple Indian film industries, including Telugu and Malayalam cinema. Its upcoming slate includes Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, Mahavatar Parshuram, Suriya 48, Yeto Ka Naay, and a forthcoming collaboration with Hrithik Roshan.
