Created by TBWA\Lintas, ‘Life Is Hard, Par Hershey’s Hai Na Yaar’ uses everyday chaos and humour to position chocolate as a small source of comfort when things go off track. Some days seem determined to go wrong. Hershey’s India taps into that familiar experience with its latest campaign, Life Is Hard, Par Hershey’s Hai Na Yaar, created by TBWA\Lintas, part of Omnicom Advertising India. The campaign centres on a simple idea: happiness does not always need to come from a big occasion. Sometimes, it can be found in small moments that make a difficult day feel a little easier.
The campaign film follows a protagonist whose day steadily descends into chaos. One setback leads to another, with his attempts to regain control repeatedly going nowhere. As the situation continues to spiral, the story builds towards a small but familiar intervention — a Hershey’s chocolate bar that offers a moment of relief. Rather than presenting chocolate as a reward or tying it to a particular celebration, the campaign places Hershey’s within the messy, unpredictable reality of everyday life. The product becomes a simple source of comfort when everything else feels overwhelming. The Hinglish line, “Life Is Hard, Par Hershey’s Hai Na Yaar,” gives the campaign its central expression, combining the realities of difficult days with the light-hearted reassurance of having a little chocolate around.
The communication also draws on Hershey’s Innocent Optimist archetype, bringing together humour, warmth and comfort through a slice-of-life narrative. The 60-second film has been positioned as the starting point for the new brand platform, with the campaign set to extend across different media throughout the year. With Life Is Hard, Par Hershey’s Hai Na Yaar, Hershey’s moves away from the idea that every happy moment needs to be significant. Instead, the campaign finds its story in the smaller moments of everyday life — particularly the ones where a little sweetness can change the mood.
