Hansaplast is making an everyday first-aid essential a little more playful with its new range of Washproof Printed Plasters for children, featuring former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes in the accompanying campaign. Available in Sports and Wildlife variants, the range features 10 prints designed to make minor cuts and scrapes feel less like interruptions to play and more like part of an active childhood.

The new television commercial brings Rhodes and a child together after a minor scrape, using his association with cricket and its physical demands to reinforce the idea of getting back to play after a small injury. Known for his diving fielding style, Rhodes becomes a natural fit for a campaign built around active movement, knocks and scrapes. The plasters combine the playful designs with everyday wound-care features. They are designed to block 99% of bacteria and offer antiseptic protection with Benzalkonium Chloride, while their washproof construction and strong adhesion are intended for regular use by children.

Geetika Mehta, managing director, NIVEA India, said: “India’s kids’ market is evolving rapidly, with the childcare products industry growing at an estimated 20% CAGR between 2024 and 2029. With around 13 crore urban children under the age of 14, there is a significant opportunity to create products that meet the changing expectations of young parents.

Today, parents are looking beyond basic utility and seeking premium products that combine quality, protection and engaging experiences. With Hansaplast Washproof Printed Plasters, we have brought this thinking to an everyday first-aid essential. By combining our 140 years of wound care expertise with trusted protection and fun, collectible designs, we are turning a routine care moment from first aid to feel-good.” The campaign uses Rhodes’ cricket credentials to give the product a familiar sporting context, while the printed designs bring a more child-friendly layer to the category. The range has been designed and printed in India.
