The new ‘Kuch Behad Kar’ platform, conceptualised and directed by Curativity, celebrates riders who refuse to let their circumstances limit their aspirations.
Gulf Oil Lubricants has launched a new positioning platform for its flagship motorcycle oil brand Gulf Pride, bringing back long-time brand ambassador MS Dhoni to front the campaign.
Titled Kuch Behad Kar, the campaign is built around the thought “Sapna CC dekh kar nahi aata”, highlighting a generation of riders whose ambitions extend beyond the size or capabilities of the machines they own.
The platform draws on consumer research into how younger Indians view success and ambition. It focuses on everyday riders who push their motorcycles beyond their intended use cases—from navigating demanding city traffic and supporting small businesses to carrying loads across rural routes and undertaking long-distance journeys on lower-cc bikes.
At the centre of the campaign is the idea that riders should not have to wait for a bigger or more powerful motorcycle to pursue bigger ambitions. Gulf Pride, formulated with Oxybitor technology, is positioned around engine performance and pick-up to support riders across these journeys.
The campaign will run across television, digital, social media, retail and on-ground activations, with the brand looking to turn Kuch Behad Kar into a longer-term conversation around ambition in contemporary India.
As part of the platform, Gulf Pride has partnered with MTV Hustle Season 5, extending the campaign’s idea that talent and ambition should not be restricted by pedigree or resources.
The brand is also introducing #BehadStories, a long-term digital storytelling initiative that will spotlight real riders, dreamers and doers whose journeys reflect the platform’s central idea. The initiative will focus on their stories, with their motorcycles playing a supporting role in their journeys.
Ravi Chawla, managing director & CEO, Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited, says, “Gulf Pride has always stood for performance. What’s changed is what performance means to today’s rider. It’s no longer about engine size, but about the determination to go further, whatever machine you’re riding.”
“‘Kuch Behad Kar’ sharpens that belief into a platform, and reflects our conviction, as a challenger brand, that every rider deserves an engine oil built for their ambition, not just their engine capacity. This is central to how we see Gulf Pride’s next phase of growth in India.”
Aarthy Sridhar, chief marketing officer, Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited, said, “Cultural positioning has never mattered more than it does today, showing up in the real conversations that reflect people’s lives and realities, not just telling them what a product does.”
“For young India, that means ambition outpacing resources, captured in “Sapna CC dekh kar nahi aata.” Gulf Pride aims at democratising performance by bringing a conversation once reserved for high-CC, premium motorcycles to the everyday commuter. With “Kuch Behad Kar,” we want Gulf Pride to stand for performance without limits.”
Conceptualised and directed by Curativity, Kuch Behad Kar marks the next phase of Gulf Pride’s positioning, taking the brand beyond a conventional performance proposition to build a broader association with the ambition of India’s everyday riders.
